About me

Whilst I have painted all of my adult life I have only had the opportunity to become a full-time artist in 2016.

I am increasingly preoccupied with environmental impacts, large and small, on our flora and fauna and am using my art to highlight these issues. See Eco Art in my gallery for more detail. I'm currently working towards an autumn exhibition on this theme so watch this space!

The impulse to paint, for me, is always connected with atmosphere, texture, and light. Whilst I prefer to paint in the studio, my work is done from sketches and photographs taken on location.

I get most of my inspiration from my local environment here in Suffolk, UK - but travelling also gives so much richness and so many opportunities to capture nature's beauty.
